Craig Clouse - Final Photo Essay

Craig Clouse - The Musician

This is a about a man called Craig Clouse. He is a song writer, musician, artist (both visual and musical), and an amazing man with a very interesting life. In other words he is my father and his past, present and future will always inspire me to be the person I want to be.

This is Craig. Right before I took this photo he was explaining to me about his music career and how it all started. I asked him how he decided he wanted to get into music. "I just kinda felt it and it came natural. I love music, I've always loved music so I decided I want to make my own."

We then took a look at his huge collection of records. He started to laugh when I asked him how many records he owned, he told me he owned at least one thousand. It took him a while to think when I asked him this. Everyday all day he is listening to loads of different ones I have never heard before. He has been collecting the for so many years.

The band he is currently is called "S&S" and this is his longest, most successful band. He has been in about ten other musical groups. This is really cool in my opinion and possibly many others because he gets to work with so many other people. Some, very popular so they make him stand out to some people, and other not so much so he can help them grow instead. Every now and then he will come telling us about someone stopping him in the street and talking to him saying how much they love his music. My dad has gotten popular very quickly wether its on the radio, magazine, or possibly a friend or band member.

He has been doing this sort as thing for my whole life and even way before I was born. "I've been performing for at least twenty-five years." I think thats really cool because that means that he has done more than one type of music genre. He has done jazz, electronic, dance, rock etc... But other than that, it means he is extremely talented and more people take interest in him. That makes him special.

"Would you like to keep going in your career or setting down?" I asked. "I wanna keep going of corse!" he said. "I wanna keep going and I don't want to stop for a while." This is one of the reasons he inspires me. He loves what he does and that is what is keeping him going.

I asked what musical equipment he specializes in the most and this is what he said; "Well now a sampler and a drum machine." He is a lot more into having technical instruments that make hundreds of different sounds than what he was into before. "That's at the moment. I used to be really into the bass and the guitar." He also has a big collection of guitars and bass'.

One of his all time favorite placed to perform live is in London. He says he likes it because its his home town. He also likes performing in Brussels (in Belgium). Craig has played like a crazy amount of times. Every single time has been a success.

As we were looking through all of his records we started listening to some of his own stuff. Its absolutely amazing. I asked him how long it usually takes him to create one song. "It really depends on what I am going for. Sometimes it takes me fifteen minuets but other times it could take me fifteen days." I think it incredible that he can make a whole song in just fifteen minuets. He told me that he has made about 30 albums.

He was telling me about all the amazing people he listens to and loves, so I asked him who insprired him. He said that he couldn't just pick one or a few. There were so many people way in his past who made him be who is now.

This photo is of him with his most recent album. I actually took the photos for the front and back cover. I also take some of the pictures for his record labels and when he is in magazines. If you like the magazine "WIRE" then you should check out some of his articles. He tells you more about what he does and what his plan is for the future.

Publication Assignment 1

The Man Who Came to Dinner was such a good play and I think that the actors did a great job! Sadly I did not have enough time to go get interviews because I had to get picked up early and I was on a tight schedule.

This is a picture of Ellie Zambarano (acting as Maddie Culter) in the play "The Man Who Came to Dinner" at the McCallum High School Fine Arts Theater. This scene is at the begging of the play when Maddie is reading a letter to the main charecter Sheridan Whiteside (played by Tristan Tierney).

In this photo Ellie Zambarano, is with Tristan Tierney as he argues to get the phone. This was taken right before the last picture with just Ellie. Now Tristan has approached her in his wheel chair right after the phone rang.

This is a picture with Ellie, Tristan, and now a boy named Joseph Cardenas. He plays the role of Bert Jefferson. Joseph (Bert) and Ellie (Maggie) have fallen in love in the play while they listen to Tristan while he is talking about all of his plans.

Here we have a picture of Sheridan Whiteside and Harriet Stanley (played by Ezra Ferrell) while Harriet is showing Sheridan some pictures. Ezra's particular character seems to be very enthusiastic over Tristans and has a great and hilarioud personality around him.

This is definitely one of my favorite photos because I caught it at the perfect time and I just love both of their reactions. In this picture we have Sheridan Whiteside and Ms. Preen. Ms. Preen is played by Celeste deBardelaben. In this sence, Ms. Preen is waking up Mr. Whiteside to take his medicine. They both get shocked and jump while they are having this sudden reaction.

In this picture, Sheridan is talking to June Stanley (played by Grace Protzmann) and Richard Stanley (played by Till Simon). This photo shows the three of them bonding together as they never have before since everyone is frightened of Sheridan. The kids just came back from ice-skating and Sheridan is giving them some "encouraging tips or advice.

Sports Photography Website Resource Search

The first link that I looked at was: http://photography.tutsplus.com/tutorials/8-tips-for-taking-sports-photos-like-a-pro--photo-296
It shows good techniques and very important ways to take photos at different types of sporting events.

This is the second link that I found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpgtA3JwBjg
It is a video that shows easy tricks in taking the best action photos.

Here is another good link I found: http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/07/24/shoot-sharper-sports-photography-pro-techniques-and-the-settings-they-use/
It explains more about the good techniques in sports photography.

I think that the first link was more helpful. Even though there was not a video it had understanding content and didnt just explain with only one or two cameras.

Photo Composition Gallery

I think this photo shows backlighting. Other photo compositions that it shows are long depth of field and I think it shows a little bit of side lighting.
this photo shows a birds eye angle and I really like it because of the colors and the location in China. The only other photocomposition that I can tell it really has is a long depth of field.
this photocomposition shows filling the frame. I really like this photo because of the orange on his fingers and it makes me wonder what he was doing before the photo was being taken. other compositions this photo has our short depth of field and symmetrical balance.
this photo shows the framing. I really like this photo because you can really see the clear focal point of the polar bear and not the tent. other photo composition is this picture has is A clear focal point and environmental lighting.
this photo shows geometric shapes. I like this photo because it looks like it was taken in a big social event or something like a festival or carnival. another composition this photo looks like it has is a long that's the field.
I think that this photo shows golden hours. other photo compositions I think that it has our environmental lighting and I think that it has a long depth of field because you can kind of see how the rocks in the distance and the horizon are little bit in focus.
The main photo composition I think this photo has is parallelism. I I like this photo because mainly it's just a group of people walking in the snow in their costumes. I also like the lighting and the color in this picture. Another photo composition this picture has is long depth of field and I think it has a little bit of environmental lighting.
The main position I see in this photo is to put a human in the landscape. I did not see many other photocomposition to this picture but I think that it may have a little bit of loans at the field because you can see that the tree in the background is in focus and it's foggy.

she made photocomposition I chose for this one is rule of thirds. you can tell that the deer in this picture are not quite in the center. other photo compositions are in this photo are short depth of field because you can see the trees in the background are not exactly in focus. I can also see that there is environmental lighting.
The main photo composition I chose for this photo is short depth of field because you can tell that the jumping fox is the only thing in focus. other photo compositions in this picture are rule of thirds and environmental lighting.

View Critcally and Respond 8

I chose the photo of Lady Liberty in New York with the sunset in the background. The main photo composition that I noticed in this picture, is that it has rule of thirds. Other things I noticed about this photo is that it has long depth of field because everything is in focus. Another reason it was my favorite photos is because I loved the sunset in the background. I also thought that the city lights and  the construction looked cool because of its silhouette. I also really liked the statue because it has light and stands out by the rest of the silhouettes.
