Nord LB Building

(Hannover, Germany)

The Architect for this building is Behnisch where they built the building (Nord LB) in Germany. It took five years to build the bank (1997-2002). It is a public building and they built it so they could expand the company. It is one of Germany's biggest bank and the most foremost universal bank. There were a lot of reasons for me to choose this building. I absolutely love the architectural design to it. The way it is put together really impresses me.

La Pedrera

(Barcelona, Spain)

Also known as Casa Mila the building was built more than a century ago between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudi. It is located in Barcelona, Spain and it is open to the public. La Pedrera was built for living space. It is an apartment complex and also one of Barcelona's greatest tourist attractions. I really love this building because it has more than one reason to be so popular and well-known. It has about 28 chimneys, and 6 skylights. It also has an amazing loft in the building which is also one of the great attractions. I like how all of the chimneys and skylights are different. Also the chimney were twisted in cool ways to make the smoke coming out of them look appealing.

Hundertwasserhaus

(Vienna, Austria)

Friedensreich Hundertwasser was the architect of this building. He started out as a painter and eventually made his way towards architecture. It was built in 1983 and they finished building it in 1985. The house is private and is home to 53 apartments and 16 private terraces. It was built for Hunderwasser's home. I like this building because of all the interesting colors on the building itself, There is also a beautiful rooftop garden which is one of many attractions to this beautiful building.

Sanzhi UFO Houses

(Taiwan)

Also known as Sanzhi Pod Houses or Sanzhi Pod City, these buildings were constructed in 1978 and were in fact abandoned in 1980 due to investment losses and several fatal car accidents during construction. The architect is Matti Suuronen. The houses are in fact haunted and that is one of the reasons why they are attractions. I really like these houses because of how they looked an all the colors on each individual house. I also think its cool how they stopped building the houses half way through and they have a really cool abstract shape.

Krzywy Domek

(Sopot, Poland)

This building was built in 2004 and designed by Szotynscy and Zaleski. The designs were in fact inspired by the fairytale illustrations and drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer. It is located in Sopot, Poland and is open to the public. The building is actually part of the Rezydent shopping center and was built to expand the space. I have seen this building before and it really caught my attention. I also like it because they didn't just focus the crazy architecture on the front but also all around the dimensions of the building.

  1. There is a lot of good information here. I know we had problems with the photos but you also didn't answer all of the assigned question. You also have to be careful when presenting web research to make sure you don't rely too heavily on the language of other writers. All of the font changes on this post suggest that you cut and pasted from other sites, and that's a recipe for presenting writing of others instead of your own. 90
